STEM subvention: 108 schools will receive new laboratories and science classrooms
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has distributed the final part of the subvention for STEM equipment as part of the “Profile” high school reform.
In total, 108 schools will receive a subvention of UAH 499.4 million. So this year they will have modern science classrooms and STEM laboratories.
The subvention will be used to equip biology, physics, chemistry, geography, mathematics and STEM laboratories:
- with modern laboratory equipment;
- with computer equipment and interactive learning tools;
- with new furniture.
The emphasis in using the subvention will be on creating a single educational space in the educational institution - a STEM cluster. It is not a matter of point equipment of one classroom, but a comprehensive renovation of several classrooms on the same floor or in the same section. This involves not only equipping classrooms with modern equipment, but also repairing the premises.
Funding for repairs should be provided by local authorities or other sources not prohibited by law.
Due to the subvention, students will have the opportunity to study in modern spaces in the 2025/2026 school year, and from 2027 onwards, they will get more advanced study of their chosen subjects and courses.
