Government approves a unified procedure for identifying the bodies of fallen military personnel and civilians
The Government has approved a unified procedure for the work of interagency regional teams that identify the bodies of fallen military personnel and civilians. This was reported by Prime Minister of Ukraine Sergii Koretskyi.
From now on, uniform rules will apply to inspections, forensic medical examinations, biological sample collection and documentation. A unified coding system has also been introduced so that records are accurate and data for establishing identity is not lost.
"In this way, we are removing unnecessary delays, making examinations higher in quality and ensuring better coordination between the teams at every stage. We started this work together with the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Defense and with the support of the Office of the President," said the Head of the Government.
Sergii Koretskyi also announced the strengthening of forensic medical expertise. The draft State Budget for 2027 provides over UAH 600 million for it, including equipment for regional bureaus.
"It is important that families receive reliable information about the fate of their loved ones more quickly and are able to say a proper farewell to them. I thank everyone who has contributed to this work," the Prime Minister emphasized.
