Update on the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection

According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of January 12, in Ukraine there have been officially confirmed 5,116 (131 children out of this number, 309 healthcare workers) new cases of COVID-19 infection. The number of active cases makes up 292,043.

During the last 24 hours, there have been hospitalized 1,092 persons, 184 patients died, 15,951 persons recovered. There have been conducted 41,682 testing (23,873 using the PCR method and 17,809 using the ELISA method).

During the entire pandemic in Ukraine:

  • 1,124,430 persons contracted COVID-19 infection;
  • 812,368 people recovered;
  • 20,019 people died;
  • 5,805,824 testing have been conducted.

Data from the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk regions and the city of Sevastopol are not available. The studies were conducted by the Virology Reference Laboratory of the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as well as by regional laboratories.

The Ministry of Healthcare of Ukraine urges when having the first symptoms of respiratory illnesses to call a family doctor. Stay home! Self-isolation is the most efficient way to protect yourself from infection.
