  • Ihor Petrashko: Employers received about UAH 650 million in one-time assistance for a 2-week quarantine period
Ministry of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine, posted 11 January 2021 17:56

Payments to employers of one-off assistance for the period of 2-week’s quarantine were transferred 100%. Employers submitted almost 7,000 packages of documents to help more than 163,000 employees.

"It is very important that absolutely all employers who had submitted documents received cash payments for their employees before December 28 last year. The total amount was about UAH 650 million. Another important point is that according to the rules of our program, employers had to transfer this money directly to their employees the day after receipt. That is, we understand that all employees under this program had received assistance before the new year and have the opportunity to spend the 2-week’s quarantine period with financial support," said Minister of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine Ihor Petrashko.

The largest number of packages of documents was submitted by employers in Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Donetsk, Vinnytsia and Zaporizhia regions.

In terms of areas, the active participants in the program were representatives of the transport industry, heavy and light industry, construction, agriculture, trade, provision of temporary accommodation services and more.

Among the large enterprises that received assistance were Boryspil International Airport, structural subdivisions of Ukrzaliznytsia JSC, Ukravtodor Regional Branches, Kharkivyanka Confectionery Factory PJSC, Turboatom OJSC (Kharkiv), and Windrose Airlines company (Kyiv), "Slavic plant of high-voltage insulators" (Donetsk region), SE NVK "Progress" (Chernihiv region), LLC "PJSC Olympus" (Kirovograd region), LLC "UNIGRAN" (Zhytomyr region).

"The program introduced by the Government is an effective mechanism for supporting employers and preserving jobs. It helps to ensure the employment of workers during the quarantine period and prevents the growth of unemployment," the Minister added.
