Ukraine's energy policy has created predictable working conditions for both Ukrainian and foreign businesses. This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Kistion during the 10th anniversary Ukrainian Energy Forum.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, changes introduced in all spheres of life of Ukraine over the last five years became the foundation of the new state. "Due to a number of striking reforms and Government’s deregulation decisions, which significantly improved the business environment, the level of attractiveness of Ukraine in the world has greatly increased", Volodymyr Kistion stressed.
The Deputy Prime Minister recalled that Ukraine systematically implements three large-scale energy reforms, namely, the gas, electricity and coal industry.
"The basis of the new energy policy of the country defined by the Energy Strategy of Ukraine until 2035 is quite ambitious. We set the task to halve the energy intensity of the economy, to increase our own energy production, to make the country energy independent and to develop green energy", Volodymyr Kistion emphasized.
The Deputy Prime Minister added that development of renewable energy, energy efficiency program and increase of own gas production will provide Ukraine with energy security.
"A state that provides itself with energy resources, and in perspective, can receive revenues from its export, secures itself against any external pressure and forms a solid foundation for sustainable economic development in the long run," the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized.
