The issues related to further cooperation and European Union’s support of energy efficiency reform and the work of the Energy Efficiency Fund are incredibly important for Ukraine. In addition, we are very interested in the involvement of modern technologies and technical solutions in the implementation of energy efficiency in industry, transport and energy, as this is directly related to the competitiveness of Ukrainian products in foreign markets. Deputy Prime Minister/Minister of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Communal Services of Ukraine Hennadii Zubko stated during a meeting with Miguel Aries Cañete, European Commissioner for Climate Action and Energy.

The Deputy Prime Minister informed that Ukraine is now successfully implementing the EU Energy Efficiency Directives with the support of international partners. In particular, basic legislation was adopted, the housing and communal services and energy audit markets were formed, 364 energy auditors received certifications, the Energy Efficiency Fund was created, its Supervisory Board and grant policy were approved, and the first 15 projects are already being implemented.

"The key task for 2019 is adoption of the Law" On Energy Efficiency " in order to implement Directive 2012/27/EU of the European Parliament. This draft law stipulates for the inclusion of all three key components of the energy efficiency system: generation - transportation - end consumer. This law should become the final point in the adoption of key legislative acts in the field of energy efficiency in Ukraine. We count on further support of this reform by the European Union", Hennadii Zubko underscored.
