The Government of Ukraine considers one of the strategic directions of activity to support families with children and increase the birth rate in Ukraine. This was stated by Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman during the Government sitting. In the framework of the meeting, the ministers analyzed already existing programs Baby Box and Municipal Nanny, and also discussed a number of new initiatives aimed at supporting families with three or more children. Thus, on the forecast of the Ministry of Social Policy this year more than 310,000 Baby Box sets will be given to parents, while the number of applications from parents for the services of municipal nanny will also increase.
"The Ukrainian nation should grow. With this purpose, we create both new standards of living and mechanisms of social support. Among those are the programs Baby Box, Municipal Nanny, support for orphaned children - for the first time last year we bought 829 apartments for those who were brought up only in orphanages", said Volodymyr Groysman.
The PM noted that new initiatives will include, in particular, the introduction of additional financial support in order to create appropriate conditions for education. The right to receive assistance will be granted to all multi-children families since April of this year. The initiatives are calculated and worked out in synergy with experts, the Ministry of Finance and comply with the vision of the President of Ukraine in this area.
"We have several essential tasks - to increase the population, to provide opportunities to educate a true and self-reliant citizen, and to ensure that people who invest efforts in children have a good attitude and support", said Volodymyr Groysman.
