  • Prime Minister: Infrastructure, access to Ukrainian exports and customs policy are among top priorities on agenda for Ukraine and the EU

    The development of the border infrastructure, the implementation of effective customs policy in the scope of increasing transit and improving procedures, unimpeded access of Ukrainian goods to the EU market and the integration of digital space are all the priorities of cooperation between Ukraine and the European Union in the framework of the implementation of the Association Agreement. Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman said commenting on the results of the roundtable "Effective implementation of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union as the essential element of European integration of Ukraine", which was held in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine with the participation of the Speaker of the Parliament Andrii Parubii, former President of the European Parliament Pat Cox, MPs, government officials and diplomats.

    "It is critical for us to provide infrastructure integration, to combine customs procedures - and in this issue, the customs reform, which we have triggered, should give a response. Aftermath it is indispensable to ratify the agreements and ensure free access of Ukrainian goods to the EU market", emphasized Volodymyr Groysman.

    He reminded that all these decisions are part of the Roadmap for the implementation of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU, as well as a package of necessary regulations, which the Government and Parliament prioritize.

    "In relations with the EU, we need infrastructure integration and procedural integration", added Volodymyr Groysman.

    Background

    The EU is Ukraine's largest trading partner, accounting for more than 42%.
