Update on the spread and prevention of COVID-19 coronavirus infection

According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of December 20, 2021, in Ukraine there have been officially confirmed 6,029 (390 children out of this number, 180 healthcare workers) new cases of COVID-19 infection.

The COVID-19 vaccination campaign started on February 24, 2021. Since the beginning of the immunization campaign, 27,484,089 vaccines have been made.

Since the beginning of the immunization campaign, 14,422,443 people have been vaccinated. On December 20, 2021, 110,740 people were vaccinated against COVID-19. Of this number 0 people got CoviShield vaccine, 32,947 – CoronaVac vaccine, 54,909 – Comirnaty vaccine, 7,207 – AstraZeneka, 0 – Janssen, Moderna – 15,677.

Vaccination was carried out by 801 mobile immunization teams, 3,356 vaccination points and 455 vaccination centers. 

During the last 24 hours, there have been hospitalized 1,061 persons, 346 patients died, 18,850 persons recovered. There have been conducted 71,319 testings (28,652 using the PCR method, 6,594 using the ELISA method and research by rapid tests for antigen to SARS-CoV-2 – 36,073).

During the entire pandemic in Ukraine:

• 3,616,716 persons contracted COVID-19 infection;
• 3,357,405 people recovered;
• 93,608 people died;
• 16,532,593 testings have been conducted.

The number of people with coronavirus disease in regions:

Data from the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk regions and the city of Sevastopol are not available.
