Government updates rules for business operations during yellow-level air raid alerts

The Government proposes updating the procedure for how businesses operate during a yellow-level air raid alert, allowing additional time to set up shelters and introducing differentiated requirements for their capacity. People's safety remains the priority, while it is also important to ensure the continuity of the economy and everyday life in the country.

Prime Minister of Ukraine Sergii Koretskyi announced the proposed changes while presenting the updated procedure to representatives of business associations.

"The priority, as before, is people's safety. But we are extending the resolution, because we cannot allow the economy and the country's daily life to come to a halt," the Head of Government stressed.

The Government proposes the following.

1. Additional time to set up shelters.
We are giving entrepreneurs more time to set up shelters or safe spaces. There are enough opportunities to purchase mobile structures.

A deferral does not mean the requirements are cancelled. People's safety must remain the priority. This can be the simplest safe space, a mobile shelter, or information on the location of and access to the nearest underground shelter.

2. Requirements will depend on the number of people on site.
Shelter requirements will depend on the number of employees and visitors present at the facility at the same time. The Ministry of Economy and Environment and the Ministry of Internal Affairs will provide details.

3. Option to use a shelter outside the business premises.
A shelter does not have to be on the company's own premises. Businesses can use a nearby shelter if it has sufficient capacity, but people must know clearly where it is located.

By March 4, military administrations are to collect information on how businesses are meeting the requirements. Based on the results, the Government will make further decisions.

The Prime Minister separately thanked entrepreneurs who have already taken care of people's safety and done everything possible to that end.

"This is exactly how it should be. Thank you for your sense of responsibility," Sergii Koretskyi emphasized.
