Almost 2,700 schools have achieved 100% vaccination rates among employees, says Serhii Shkarlet
According to current data, today, November 8, 2021, almost 93% of school staff have been vaccinated with at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine. More than 492,000 employees of general secondary education institutions, or 76.2%, were vaccinated with two doses. This was announced by Minister of Education and Science Serhii Shkarlet.
The largest number of vaccinated with at least one dose of school staff demonstrate the following areas:
- Khmelnytsky region - 99%;
- Mykolayiv region - 97.5%;
- Kyiv region - 97.4%;
- Kharkiv region - 96.8%;
- Donetsk region - 96%.
"More than 7.3 thousand schools are engaged in distance learning. The largest number of such educational establishments is in Odesa region - 668 and Volyn - 547. Meanwhile, some schools that fell into the red zone, achieved a vaccination rate of 100% among educators, and work in the usual mode - almost 2.7 thousand," told Serhii Shkarlet.
There are almost a thousand educational institutions on vacation, most of those in Kharkiv region - 285, Rivne region - 213 and Mykolayiv region - 113.
More than 5.3 thousand schools continue to operate offline. A record number of such in Vinnytsia - 640, Ternopil - 632, Transcarpathia - 575.
"The all-Ukrainian vaccination campaign is underway. I am grateful to colleagues for responsibility and cohesion, with joint efforts we are returning to a safe and commonplace learning regime. I would like to emphasize once again that vaccination is the only and most effective way to reduce the risk of COVID-19 infection and protect yourself from the severe course of coronavirus disease," the Minister stressed.
