Hennadii Zubko: Government conducts systemic activity to provide the population of Donbas with food and essential commodities
The Ukrainian Government continues providing food and consumer goods for
the civilian population and social institutions of eastern Ukraine. Today 330
tons of humanitarian aid in 24 trucks have departed
from Kharkiv and Pavlohrad of Dnipropetrovsk region
to Kramatorsk, Mariupol and Severodonetsk.
Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Regional Development, Construction, Housing
and Utilities
Hennadii Zubko
inspected the shipment of the cargo.
"There is a relevant commission of the
President of Ukraine and the NSDC decision. The Government conducts systemic
activity to ensure shipment of the assistance for the social institutions and population
residing on the territories affected by the shelling and the territories
controlled by militants. It will be difficult to deliver this target assistance
to its destination, but we're working on that now. We hope that, like in
December, we will be able to hand it over to those who really require such
assistance. In that time we could have done it exceptionally due to the professional
management of the SES Chairman, heads of Luhansk and Donetsk regional state
administrations, and also thanks to the courage of volunteers," said Hennadii Zubko.
He expressed his gratitude to the employees of
the units of
State Emergency Service, the
regions and concerned citizens and patrons who had contributed to the process of collecting the humanitarian cargo.
“United and friendly Ukrainian people compose
the powerful force that helps Ukraine today to resist foreign aggression, and it is a signal to those people who are
suffering in the East of Ukraine from the actions of the
militants, that the entire Ukrainian nation is with them," said
Vice Prime Minister.
The official also drew attention to the events
in Avdiivka. According to him, the terrorists have already made several attempts to halt the life support
systems.
"The situation is difficult, but under control", said Hennadii Zubko.
