Yulia Svyrydenko: Government is providing energy support through several programmes – for people, communities and businesses
The Government is delivering energy support through multiple programmes – to individuals, communities and businesses. New forms of assistance are also being developed, Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko has announced.
“Almost 10,000 portable charging stations have already been sent to families with children who have subgroup A disabilities. For them, a stable power supply for medical and other essential household devices is vital every single day. The Ministry of Social Policy, Family and Unity will soon process additional applications,” the Head of Government said.
Other energy support programmes for people, communities and businesses continue to operate:
- The Government is backing those who repair the energy system daily after attacks. Nearly 25,000 workers in repair crews have already received extra payments of UAH 20,000 for January and February. Power engineers, utility workers, gas workers and railway staff will receive the same top-ups for March.
- 38,000 entrepreneurs have received up to UAH 15,000 each to boost their energy independence. Total funding amounts to almost UAH 380 million. Thanks to this support, shops, pharmacies, cafés and other vital community services continue operating during power cuts.
- 650 applications have been received for 0% interest loans to purchase generators and batteries. Banks have already disbursed 136 loans worth nearly UAH 200 million.
- Under the 5–7–9% programme for developing own-generation capacity, 132 agreements worth over UAH 2.3 billion have been signed with businesses, and 31 agreements with apartment building co-owners’ associations. These are systemic solutions – own-generation that strengthens the energy resilience of communities.
“We are preparing an additional support package for people: a one-off payment of UAH 1,500 for the most vulnerable categories of citizens, plus cashback on fuel under the National Cashback programme,” Yulia Svyrydenko said.
