Ministry of Energy: Estonia announces additional EUR 100,000 contribution to Ukraine Energy Support Fund

Estonia has announced an additional contribution of EUR 100,000 to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund. Once the funds are received, the country’s total contribution will exceed EUR 2.7 million.

“Estonia has once again demonstrated its solidarity with Ukraine. We are grateful to our partners for this additional assistance, which strengthens our resilience, and to the Energy Community for coordinating support that is critical to us. This assistance helps prepare Ukraine’s energy sector for winter, repair damage caused by russian attacks and provide energy companies with everything they need for restoration work. It is a tangible contribution to our energy security and our ability to withstand the attacks,” emphasised First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal.

The Ukraine Energy Support Fund was established in spring 2022 in agreement with the European Commission and the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine to address the consequences of russian attacks on critical energy infrastructure.

Since its establishment, the Fund has received more than EUR 2.4 billion in grant funding from 40 international donors representing 26 partner countries and three international organisations.

The Fund provides an effective way for governments, international financial institutions, international organisations and corporate donors to support the Ukrainian energy sector in repairing the damage and maintaining uninterrupted operations.
