Yulia Svyrydenko orders major speed-up in road repairs
Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko inspected road construction in Chernihiv region. Here, as in other parts of the country, ongoing repairs to the road surface are continuing.
Yulia Svyrydenko held a working meeting with Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration and Minister for Communities and Territories Development Oleksii Kuleba, Head of the State Agency for Restoration and Infrastructure Development Serhii Sukhomlyn, and heads of regional recovery and infrastructure development services, regarding the execution of works on public highways.
“Since the beginning of the year, more than 518,000 square metres of damage have been repaired. I have tasked the Ministry for Communities and Territories Development with stepping up the pace of roadworks – from the current 60,000 square metres per day to 150,000 by the end of March. This will significantly accelerate the elimination of winter damage,” Yulia Svyrydenko said.
The Head of Government also instructed that ongoing repairs on international routes be completed by 1 May.
“Roads are a matter of our defence capability and effective logistics,” the Prime Minister emphasised.
