Sergii Koretskyi: We discussed the security situation and joint action to fund Ukraine’s defence with our European partners

Prime Minister of Ukraine Sergii Koretskyi, together with the Minister of Finance and the Minister of Economy and Environment, met with national security advisers to the leaders of Germany, the United Kingdom and France, diplomats and heads of mission. During the meeting, the parties discussed in detail the actual state of Ukraine’s public finances and the country’s needs for this year and next.

“We briefed our partners on the consequences of russian terror against businesses and civilian infrastructure. We outlined the Government’s main economic and social priorities and challenges ahead of winter,” the Prime Minister said. “We reaffirmed our commitment to continuing European integration reforms to accelerate the necessary decisions and secure macro-financial assistance.”

The Prime Minister of Ukraine emphasised that the cost of fighting the war is undoubtedly rising. The enemy has significantly increased its production and use of drones and missiles.

“Ukraine must respond accordingly, and that requires more resources,” Sergii Koretskyi said. “We are counting on joint decisions to secure the necessary funding. For our part, we have a clear action plan to fulfil our commitments and unlock the international assistance allocated for this year.”

The Prime Minister of Ukraine thanked partners for their support and stressed: “We value and recognise everything they are doing to strengthen our resilience. We share the same vision for the next steps. The key conclusion from the meeting is that Ukraine and its people do not stand alone against the enemy.”
