Evgeniy Khmara: Ministry of Defence is working to establish predictable rules for Ukraine’s defence industry and scale up production

Minister of Defence of Ukraine Evgeniy Khmara met with representatives of Ukrainian defence companies and industry associations.

The participants discussed the Ministry’s key priorities for Ukraine’s defence industry: meeting the needs of the front, scaling up production, establishing clear rules for manufacturers, and enabling Ukrainian companies to enter international markets.

Production tailored to the needs of the front

Evgeniy Khmara thanked Ukrainian defence companies for their contribution to the country’s defence capabilities.

“Supporting Ukraine’s defence industry is one of the Ministry of Defence’s priorities,” Evgeniy Khmara said.

The Minister emphasized that the main task is to provide Ukrainian warriors with the weapons they need and create conditions that will enable Ukrainian manufacturers to expand their capabilities and scale up production in line with the needs of the front.

Predictable rules for manufacturers

The meeting also addressed operating conditions for Ukraine’s defence industry.

Evgeniy Khmara emphasized that the Ministry of Defence team will work to establish clear and predictable rules that will enable Ukrainian companies to grow faster and increase production.

The discussion also covered exports. The top priority remains unchanged: meeting the needs of the front.

The Minister added that exports of Ukrainian defence solutions could become a tool for developing the defence industry and attracting additional resources for Ukraine’s defence.

The Ministry of Defence will continue its direct dialogue with manufacturers and relevant industry associations. “Our task is to work together to create the conditions for developing a strong Ukrainian defence industry capable of scaling up production and providing the front with what it needs,” Evgeniy Khmara said.
