Government allocates UAH 33.6 billion for payments to service members and their families
The Government is allocating UAH 33.6 billion for payments to service members and their families. The funding will be reallocated from the reserve earmarked for the security and defence sector to ensure that all necessary payments are made on time in September, Prime Minister of Ukraine Sergii Koretskyi announced.
According to the Prime Minister, UAH 25.9 billion will fund the monthly pay of Armed Forces personnel in September. A further UAH 7.7 billion will be used for one-off payments in the event of a service member’s death, disability or partial loss of working capacity.
“Payments to our defenders, support for their families and the provision of the weapons and equipment required by the Defence Forces are absolute priorities for the state,” the Prime Minister emphasised.
Sergii Koretskyi urged Government officials and parliamentarians to accelerate their work as much as possible and focus on adopting every urgent decision and law required to secure international financial assistance.
“This is the only way to balance the budget under the current circumstances,” he said.
