Government earmarks UAH 718 million to ensure transport communications inside Odesa region and that with Moldova
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has allocated UAH 718 million to ensure transport communications with the southwestern part of Odesa region and with Moldova.
These decisions will make it possible to maintain uninterrupted logistics both within the region and to ensure international freight and passenger transport with Moldova and Romania.
This is important given the enemy’s attempts to disrupt transport corridors, as well as attacks on bridges, railways, ports, and other logistics infrastructure.
The decision enables alternative routes to be established near the bridge in the town of Mayaky, which was damaged in late 2025 as a result of russian shelling.
“We are systematically strengthening alternative routes—both within the region and on international routes to Moldova and Romania. This concerns freight transport, the mobility of people, and the stable functioning of the economy.
A separate focus is on restoring and creating backup solutions in the area of the bridge in Mayaky, which was damaged at the end of last year. This will allow us to establish additional logistics routes and reduce the vulnerability of critical infrastructure.
In a situation where the enemy is deliberately targeting bridges, railways, and ports, our task is to ensure the system’s resilience. Backup routes are a necessity,” noted Deputy Prime Minister for Resyoration and Minister for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine Oleksii Kuleba.
The decision also provides for the construction of a bridge crossing at the Yampil–Cosauti border crossing point in Vinnytsia region.
It envisages the construction of specific infrastructure solutions that will ensure the creation of a backup road connection and strengthen the resilience of transport and logistics links not only with Moldova but also toward the ports of the Danube region.
