Ukraine and Lithuania deepen cooperation in energy, security, defense, and European integration

Prime Minister of Ukraine Sergii Koretskyi held extended‑format talks in Kyiv with Prime Minister of Lithuania Mindaugas Sinkevičius. The Head of the Ukrainian Government thanked his Lithuanian colleague for choosing Ukraine as the destination of his first international visit in office.

"First of all, I thanked to Lithuania for solidarity and comprehensive support for Ukraine. We highly value the decision to disburse 0.25% of GDP to back Ukraine. It is a significant contribution and important message to all partners," noted Sergii Koretskyi.

The parties discussed further cooperation in energy, security, defense, logistics, and bilateral trade. Ukraine stands ready to share its experience and expertise with Lithuania.

Peculiar attention was paid to European integration of Ukraine. Ukraine appreciates Lithuania’s readiness to make Ukraine a priority during its EU Council Presidency in first half of 2027.

During the talks, the sides tackled participation of Lithuania in reconstruction. Within the Shelter Coalition, it funds modern underground shelters in frontline and border regions, in particular in schools of Sumy, Zaporizhzhia, and Zhytomyr regions.
