Sergii Koretskyi discusses sanctions, EU integration, and Ukraine’s recovery with Prime Minister of Ireland

Prime Minister of Ukraine Sergii Koretskyi held a meeting with Prime Minister of Ireland Micheál Martin.

During the talks, the Head of Ukrainian Government thanked Ireland for its support of Ukraine and accentuated the adoption by the European Union of the 21st package of sanctions against russia.

"This is an important decision that will further restrict the kremlin's ability to finance its war against Ukraine. I thanked Ireland for its leadership in advancing these measures," stressed Sergii Koretskyi.

Ireland currently holds the Presidency of the Council of the European Union. The Prime Minister highlighted their contribution to opening Cluster 6, "External Relations," in Ukraine's EU accession negotiations. He expressed belief that Ireland's Presidency would help complete the opening of all remaining clusters and move swiftly toward the substantive stage of Ukraine's accession process.

During the meeting, the parties also focused on the preparations for the winter period and the restoration of damaged infrastructure. 

In addition, the talks covered the involvement of Irish companies in Ukraine’s reconstruction and the further development of cooperation between the businesses of both countries, which continues despite russia’s aggression.

"The people of Ireland have stood with Ukraine since the first days of the full-scale invasion. We deeply appreciate Ireland's unwavering solidarity, all the assistance it has provided, and its steadfast support for Ukraine's European future," emphasized Sergii Koretskyi.

The Prime Minister of Ukraine expressed gratitude to Micheál Martin, the Government of Ireland, and the entire Irish people for standing with Ukraine.
