Update on the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection

According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of March 24, in Ukraine there have been officially confirmed 14174 (750 children out of this number, 434 healthcare workers) new cases of COVID-19 infection. The number of active cases makes up 272,861.

Since the beginning of the immunization campaign, 137,026 people have been vaccinated, of whom 137,025 have received 1 dose, and 1 person have completed vaccination (received 2 doses).

On March 23, 2021, 15 097 people were vaccinated against COVID-19, of which 15 097 persons were vaccinated with 1 dose, vaccination was completed (2 doses) - 0 people.

During the last 24 hours, there have been hospitalized 5438 persons, 342 patients died, 7386 persons recovered. There have been conducted 126 948 testings (52196 using the PCR method, 21549 using the ELISA method and research by rapid tests for antigen to SARS-CoV-2 – 53 203).

During the entire pandemic in Ukraine:

  • 1 579 906 persons contracted COVID-19 infection;
  • 1 276 272 people recovered;
  • 30 773 people died;
  • 7 778 231 testings have been conducted.

Data from the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk regions and the city of Sevastopol are not available. The studies were conducted by the Virology Reference Laboratory of the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as well as by regional laboratories.
