Ministry of Digital Transformation to present new EdTech partnerships at Fifth Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen

Kyiv will host the fifth Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen, themed “Education Shaping the World.” The Ministry of Digital Transformation is contributing to a special session, “Innovation in Education: From Crisis to Transformation.”

The focus will be on key education issues: preparing children for a future that doesn’t yet exist, whether crises can spur education system reform, and which technologies enable personalised and accessible learning.

“The topic of education as a cornerstone of any society resonates with everyone. Although the war has made us adopt our own specific approaches to organizing the educational process, other countries face different challenges, such as equal access to education,” said Olena Zelenska, First Lady of Ukraine.

Panel discussions will feature representatives from global tech companies Google and Cisco, EdTech platforms SkillLab and BecomingX, and Ukrainian startups Gios, RobocodeXR, Edmaps, and kood. Experts from Estonia, Denmark, and the UK – leaders in educational innovation – will share their experiences.

The discussions will highlight pitches from Ukrainian startups transforming education and setting new industry standards, alongside topics like ethical technology implementation, AI integration in education, and fostering critical thinking in children.

During the Summit, the Ministry will announce major new partnerships and project launches, marking the next phase of EdTech development in Ukraine. These initiatives align with the Government-approved WINWIN Innovation Strategy.

“Our task is not to distance children from technology and innovation, but to find a place for them. To help teachers and the entire education system navigate this path. In 5, 10, or 15 years, our world will look very different – new technologies will emerge that are only beginning to develop today,” said First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov.

Ukraine has made significant strides in digital transformation, ranking 5th globally in digital public services per the E-Government Development Index, climbing 97 positions in six years and leading in E-Participation. The Ministry is advancing educational projects like Mriia, Diia.Education, IT Studios, and CDTO Campus, which transform not only access to knowledge but the learning process itself.

Ukrainian education faces severe wartime challenges: damaged infrastructure, learning losses, and growing needs for inclusive technologies and digital literacy. This makes EdTech development critically important.

The Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen, initiated by Olena Zelenska in 2021, has grown into a global platform. Over 40 countries have participated, with the event fostering collaborative solutions, experience sharing, and innovations to address humanitarian challenges.
