The Deputy Prime Minister/ Minister for Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Communal Services of Ukraine Hennadii Zubko emphasized during the Regional Development Council meeting in Cherkasy.

"If we consider the two directions that we have embarked on, these are very simple things. First of all, those include the quality of human life - education, health, road safety, administrative services. The second direction is the competitiveness of the regions", said Hennadii Zubko.

The top official told that within the framework of the decentralization reform, 54 regional territorial communities have already been established in Cherkasy region. According to the prospective plan, 84 communities are planned to establish.

"By 2020, we have to blueprint all long-term plans for each region and approach the local elections with a map of Ukraine fully covered with consolidated communities (CC). We must eliminate discrimination against people who are not yet living in the amalgamated territorial communities. As CC is a completely different level of influence on the authorities and an opportunity to realize promising directions", said Hennadii Zubko.
