    The activities to extinguish fires that broke out on September 30 and October 1 are underway in Luhansk region.

    The most difficult situation developed along the line of demarcation in the territory of Stanychno-Luhansk, Novoaidar, Severodonetsk areas, where 32 settlements fell into the affected area.

    As of 9 a.m. On October 5, out of 8 main foci of forest, reeds and dry vegetation fires, 6 foci were eliminated, 1 front of fire was contained, measures were taken to contain the foci of forest fires in the area of the village of Smolianynove.

    According to preliminary estimates, the approximate area covered by the fire of all 7 foci is more than 20 thousand hectares.

    During October 4, 146 water discharges (436 tons of water) were made by SES aircraft in Luhansk region. Since the beginning of firefighting 491 discharges (1,586 tons of water) were conducted.

    During the forest fires, the bodies of 11 people were found, of which: 3 people died as a result of poisoning by combustion products, 1 person - from burns, 3 people - due to heart attacks and 4 people, the cause of death is being established. 18 people were injured (including 3 SES officers).

    Information on the destruction and damage of residential buildings and infrastructure is being calculated by local authorities.

    150 people were evacuated during firefighting.

    A total of 1,821 people and 251 units were involved in the firefighting, in particular: from SES - 481 personnel, 116 units of equipment (Luhansk, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhia, Kirovohrad, Poltava and Kharkiv regions), including 3 AN-32 P aircraft and 2 SES helicopters. The rotation of personnel of Zaporizhia, Kirovohrad, Donetsk, Kharkiv and Poltava regions was carried out. A mobile control point of the SES has been deployed.
