The Ukrainian delegation led by Deputy Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine Nataliya Fedorovich participates in the 63rd session of UN Commission on the Status of Women(CSW) which will be held from March 12 till March 22 at the UN headquarters (New York, USA).
The priority theme of the event: Social protection systems, access to public services and sustainable infrastructure for gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls.
The side-event was held in the thematic block on UN Security Council Resolution 1325 "Azov Sailors' Women" (The event is devoted to issues covered by the United Nations Security Council Resolution 1325 "Women, Peace and Security" - enhancing the participation of women in the prevention, and settlement of conflicts and the observance of international legal norms on the rights and protection of women and girls.
The focus is placed on Ukrainian women who have been directly affected by another wave of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine. These are relatives of Ukrainian sailors captured by Russian security forces during an armed incident in the Black Sea on November 25, 2018.
The Deputy Minister Nataliya Fedorovich will deliver a speech during the Interactive Dialogue on "Creating Alliances for Social Security Systems, Access to Public Services and Sustainable Infrastructure for Equality between Men and Women, Empowering Women and Girls" and during the High-level Interactive Dialogue on the topic "Accelerating the implementation of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action: Preparation for the Beijing + 25 Review and Evaluation.
