On March 4, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Information Policy of Ukraine Artem Bidenko paid a working visit to Latvia.

Within a  framework of the visit Artem Bidenko met with Deputy Speaker of the Saeima of Latvia Dagmara Beitnere-Le Galla. The sides the issues of informational needs of the Ukrainian community in Latvia.

During a meeting with the representative of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Saiema Inese Voika and Head of the Latvian Delegation to OSCE Parliamentary Assembly Inese Ikstena a special emphasis was placed on the effective cooperation of Ukraine and Latvia within the framework of OSCE, in particular ,regarding the support of resolutions on Ukraine, as well as the problems of ensuring balanced information campaigns during national elections.

Apart from that, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Information Policy took part in the discussion "The role of writers in the struggle against propaganda and freedom of speech in the post-truth era," during which he spoke about the activities of the Ministry of Information Policy in the area of countering Russian propaganda in its territories and counteracting Russia's information campaigns in Ukraine. The event was organized by the Embassy of Ukraine in Latvia with the assistance of PEN-clubs of Latvia and Ukraine. Moreover, foreign diplomats, journalists and representatives of civil society accredited in Riga visited the event.
