    Thousands of apartment buildings, hospitals, schools and administrative buildings will be insulated in Ukraine this year. This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal from the rostrum of the Verkhovna Rada during the Question Time for the Government" on February 18.

    "At the initiative of the President, this year's thermal modernization program will reach a really significant scale. By 2030, 50 percent of the housing stock is expected to be insulated, thus will allowing to improve the living conditions for 15 million people," said the Prime Minister.

    As Denys Shmyhal noted, as of the end of January, the Energy Efficiency Fund had received more than 900 applications from condominiums to participate in the Enerhodim program. According to him, the total cost of projects exceeds UAH 7.3 billion, and grants - UAH 4.5 billion.

    "More than 80,000 families have already become participants in the program, more than 200 buildings have been partially or completely modernized," the Head of Government added.

    In addition, the Prime Minister stressed that a joint project with the European Investment Bank Ukraine's Public Buildings Energy Efficiency would be launched in March.

    "The project will allow providing thermal modernization of about a thousand public buildings, in particular kindergartens, schools, hospitals, clinics and other social, administrative and cultural facilities, which are in state and municipal ownership," said Denys Shmyhal.

    According to the Prime Minister, the total amount of support from the EIB for these needs makes up EUR 300 million.
