SE Energoatom jointly with Turboatom and Westinghouse Electric Sweden AB launch five-year project for the modernization of nuclear units in Ukraine

The National Nucelar Energy Generating Company Energoatom together with PJSC Turboatom and Westinghouse Electric Sweden AB embark on a five-year project aimed to increase the efficiency and production capacity of operating power units at Ukrainian nuclear power plants. Project documents were signed today in Kharkiv in the presence of Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman in the framework of a working visit of the Head of Government to Kharkiv region.

In particular, the document inked are as follows: a Program of participation between SE NNEGC Energoatom and PJSC Turboatom regarding supply of equipment for NPPs of Ukraine for the 5-year period of 2018-2022 to the tune of about USD 100 million, an Agreement between PJSC Donbasenergo and PJSC Turboatom on the supply of turbine K 330-23.5 with a capacity of 330 MW for the reconstruction of 6A unit of the Slavianskaya TPP for a total of UAH 317 million, as well as a Memorandum of Understanding between Westinghouse Electric Sweden AB and PJSC Turboatom on improving the efficiency of equipment and increase of capacity of operating power units of Ukrainian NPPs equipped with turbines and generators produced by the Russian Federation, to the tune of USD 100 million. The implementation of the aforesaid documents will allow for the creating over 15 thousand jobs.

Commenting on signing of the documents, the Head of Government noted: "We have just inked deals to the tune of UAH 5.5 billion. This means that in the coming years the enterprises will be busy with workload, about 15 thousand people will receive wages, and this cycle will engage more than 10 enterprises of Ukraine. "
