The Verkhovna Rada has
endorsed draft laws on ratification of an Agreement between Ukraine and the
Kingdom of the Netherlands on international mission to protect investigations, which
was signed on July 28, 2014, and also an Agreement between Ukraine and
Australia on sending personnel to Ukraine in connection with the Malaysia Airlines’ MH17 jetliner crash which was signed on July 24, 2014 in Kyiv.
The two documents envisage practical
engagement of police, military and non-military personnel from the Netherlands
and Australia, other states whose citizens were aboard the MH17 plane until the
reasons of the airplane’s downing are investigated. The missions are free to
travel along Ukraine’s territory to get to the locations joined with holding
the investigation process and have a right to search and gather the remnants
as well as investigate the catastrophe, to conduct other kinds of activities
which can be jointly determined by participants of the multinational international
mission. The international investigation
protection mission is comprised of over 700 armed persons, including up to
250 armed personnel from Australia. |
