Denys Shmyhal took part in the celebrations on the occasion of the Day of Diplomatic Service of Ukraine.

The event brought together President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk, Head of the Presidential Office Andriy Yermak and government officials.

"There are hundreds of areas of relations in the world in which Ukraine needs real, concrete, tangible results. And this is your job – to be present in all the right offices, in the media, and in communication with all the people Ukraine needs, and to make your position clear, ensuring the desired outcomes for Ukraine," the President of Ukraine stressed.

The Speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament emphasised the readiness of the Verkhovna Rada to continue cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on all issues of interest to the Ukrainian state. "I believe in the power of Ukrainian diplomacy. I have had the opportunity to see this more than once," he said.

"I would like to wish the Ukrainian Foreign Service to turn wartime diplomacy into a diplomacy of victory, a diplomacy that will achieve and maintain a sustainable and just peace," Ruslan Stefanchuk concluded his speech.

In turn, the Prime Minister stressed that thanks to the efforts of diplomats, Ukraine manages to strengthen its position in the world, gain allies and destroy the aggressor's plans.

"The key objectives of our economic policy remain unchanged: to make Ukraine stronger while russia weaker," said Denys Shmyhal voicing gratitude to the diplomats for their active and effective work.

The Prime Minister also highlighted the main areas of work of the diplomatic corps: sanctions pressure on russia, attraction of financial resources and investments.

"Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Ukraine has already attracted more than USD 105 billion in external financing. We will also receive USD 50 billion in aid from the G7 and the EU through the use of russian frozen assets. Now we have to work on attracting long-term support and complete confiscation of russian assets," the Prime Minister stressed.

In addition, he noted that Ukraine now has a unique chance to rebuild its economy and leverage Western investment and technology. In particular, in the extraction and processing of critical raw materials, the agricultural sector, IT, green energy, logistics, construction and, most importantly, the defence industry.

"We already have examples of successful cooperation with foreign partners in all these sectors. In particular, thanks to the constant work of diplomats," the Head of Government stressed.

During the event, the Prime Minister awarded representatives of the diplomatic corps.
