Rada approves Government amendments to the State budget 2014, Tax Code and does not accept Yatsenyuk's resignation
On
Thursday, July 31, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine approved amendments to the
Law "On the State Budget of Ukraine for 2014" and the Tax Code of Ukraine as well as some
other legislative acts of Ukraine.
The
Parliament did not support the resignation of Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk. Only 16 MPs voted for Yatsenyuk's resignation.
In particular, his resignation was not supported by 109 MPs, 184 MPs did not
vote and two abstained from voting.
Following the voting on this issue the PM stated: "Today, the world economy has got two pieces of news. Firstly, Argentina has declared a default on its debt. Secondly, Ukraine has not declared a default and will never declare it. Thank you for your work and see you at the next meeting at the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine."
