Focusing resources on restoring heat supply and supporting people: Oleksii Kuleba
A meeting of the Headquarters for Elimination of the Emergency Situation in the Energy System of Kyiv and Kyiv Region took place under the chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration and Minister for Communities and Territories Development Oleksii Kuleba.
In Kyiv, work continues to eliminate the consequences of damage to heat generation facilities and networks. More than 200 emergency restoration teams are involved, working in residential buildings and social facilities. Particular attention is being given to districts where heat supply is temporarily unavailable.
Specialists have completed a technical inspection of the combined heat and power plant that supplied heat to part of the buildings in the Darnytskyi and Dniprovskyi districts of the capital. Based on the inspection results, a list of priority measures required to restore the facility’s operation has been determined. Currently, 1,126 multi-storey apartment buildings remain without heat supply.
“To support residents, additional heating points have been set up, including in educational institutions. Some are connected to mobile boiler houses and operate round the clock. In total, more than 1,500 Points of Invincibility are functioning in Kyiv. We have separately coordinated with energy companies to ensure the most stable possible electricity supply for buildings without heat in the Darnytskyi and Dniprovskyi districts. Together with communities and international partners, we continue to mobilise additional resources and work on restoration,” noted Oleksii Kuleba.
At the same time, repair work continues to restore heat supply to consumers in Kharkiv.
Water supply and sewerage in most communities are operating normally, with backup power sources brought in as needed.
