Today’s visit by Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk to Kyiv once again demonstrated Poland’s and the Polish people’s solidarity with Ukraine. This was emphasised by Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko.

“We focused in depth on our joint response to the challenges of russia’s full-scale invasion, the impact of which is felt across Europe, including in Poland,” noted Yulia Svyrydenko. “Our key priority is the continuation of military support to counter russia’s terrorist attacks on civilian infrastructure and our cities.”

Yulia Svyrydenko and Donald Tusk also discussed another important area of cooperation – energy, particularly ways to rapidly restore and effectively protect Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.

“We are continuing cooperation between our oil and gas companies and discussed increasing the capacity of interconnectors between our countries,” reported the Head of the Ukrainian Government.

Just days ago, the first shipment of U.S. LNG in 2026 entered Ukraine thanks to the collaboration between Ukrainian and Polish energy companies.

“Together, we will increase LNG supplies to ensure Ukraine’s energy stability during severe frosts and unprecedented russian attacks on our energy system,” noted Yulia Svyrydenko.

Building on the conversation between President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Prime Minister of Poland Donald Tusk, the heads of government discussed practical cooperation on developing border and logistical infrastructure, as well as expanding the scale and capacity of connections between Ukraine and Poland.

“We paid special attention to preparations for the Ukraine Recovery Conference, which Poland will host this year. We are also preparing for the next meeting of the Joint Ukrainian-Polish Commission on Economic Cooperation and a new round of intergovernmental consultations,” said Yulia Svyrydenko.

The Head of the Ukrainian Government highlighted that particular attention was paid to Ukrainians staying in Poland and ensuring their needs are met. Ukrainians have become an important part of Polish society and account for more than 2.7% of Poland’s GDP (according to 2024 data).

“We are grateful to Poland for supporting our people and our state during these challenging times for our shared security,” said Yulia Svyrydenko.
