The first preferential loan at 0% annual interest for businesses to purchase energy equipment has been issued in Ukraine. This was announced by Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko.

According to her, businesses are actively taking advantage of this new opportunity to strengthen their energy independence. In total, 306 applications amounting to UAH 384 million have already been submitted to 16 banks.

Preferential financing under the Affordable Loans at 5-7-9 programme is available to sole proprietors and legal entities in micro-, small and medium-sized businesses.

The loan amount is up to UAH 10 million for a term of up to 3 years.

The funds can be used to purchase generation equipment, including gas turbine, gas piston and biogas units, as well as diesel, petrol and gas generators.

Currently, 17 partner banks are already working with energy loans, with other banks gradually joining the programme. Applications for preferential lending are processed on a priority basis.

“This gives enterprises the ability to operate without interruptions during blackouts, preserve production and jobs, and allows communities to maintain stable operation of enterprises and critical facilities even in difficult energy conditions,” noted the Head of Government.
