Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko met with veterans in Kyiv. “Ukraine is shaping its veteran policy right in the midst of the war. It is important for us to make state support simple, accessible, and effective exactly where veterans need it. We are working on this together,” the Head of Government emphasized.

Employment and Veteran-Owned Businesses

Yulia Svyrydenko stressed that the Government’s objective is not only to assist with employment but also to create opportunities for professional development after service. According to her, by 2030, the Government plans to employ 100,000 male and female veterans. In collaboration with the business sector, work is ongoing on training and retraining programs, support for veteran entrepreneurship, and grant programs.

Housing Programs

The eOselia program for veterans and combatants is in effect. This year, UAH 5.4 billion have already been allocated for housing for veterans and the families of fallen defenders.

Support for Veterans

More than 2,600 specialists are already working in communities to support veterans and their families. They assist with access to services, rehabilitation, and support. The Government plans to increase the number of such specialists to 3,400, particularly in frontline regions.

Digital Services

Through the Veteran.PRO platform, 225 services provided by the Government and regional administrations are now available. The Ministry of Veterans Affairs team continues to expand these opportunities.

Physical and Mental Recovery

During the meeting, participants also discussed ensuring access to prosthetics, wheelchairs, and physical rehabilitation.

“We continue to maintain constant communication and work on solutions for a smooth transition back to civilian life,” emphasized Yulia Svyrydenko.
