Yulia Svyrydenko: Government approves terms for large-scale privatisation of the Odesa Port Plant and two sanctioned assets
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine is continuing its large-scale privatisation policy to attract investment into industry. Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko announced the decision following a Government meeting.
“At today’s Government meeting, we approved the terms for the privatisation of the Odesa Port Plant, as well as the sale of two sanctioned assets – Demurinsky Mining and Processing Plant LLC and Motordetal-Konotop LLC,” the Prime Minister said.
The state’s shareholding in the Odesa Port Plant will be offered through an open electronic auction with a starting price of more than UAH 4.3 billion. The main objective is to attract a strategic investor that will restore the full operation of one of Ukraine’s largest chemical production complexes.
One of the key privatisation conditions requires the purchaser to invest at least UAH 500 million in modernising production facilities and improving energy efficiency, while maintaining the company’s core business activities.
The Government also approved the terms for the sale of two sanctioned assets:
- Demurinsky Mining and Processing Plant LLC – starting price of UAH 1.82 billion;
- Motordetal-Konotop LLC – starting price of UAH 415.5 million.
Proceeds from the sale of the sanctioned assets will be channelled to the Fund for Eliminating the Consequences of Armed Aggression and used to support Ukraine’s recovery.
All three assets will be sold through open online auctions on the Prozorro.Sale platform, ensuring a transparent and competitive process.
According to the Prime Minister, the privatisation will help restore the full operation of the enterprises, modernise production and expand the export potential of Ukrainian industry.
