Yevhen Yenin: Every Ukrainian citizen can become a partner in humanitarian demining in Ukraine

The First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine told about the possibilities and results of using the application "Demining of Ukraine" during the live broadcast of the all-Ukrainian telethon #UARazom.

The First Deputy Head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs demonstrated several cases of successful elimination of explosive devices carried out due to users of the Demining of Ukraine application. In particular, he told about the neutralized armor-piercing ammunition, the photo of which was sent by a resident of Kyiv region.

"The application is rather popular: the number of applications is growing every day. And as of today, a week after the launch, we have managed to neutralize almost half a thousand explosive devices," said Yevhen Yenin.

According to him, humanitarian demining of Ukraine’s territory requires a significant concentration of efforts of pyrotechnics of the State Emergency Service, explosives technicians of the National Police and the National Guard, as well as the support of international partners, both in the form of special equipment and attraction of their specialized units. However, the Ministry of Internal Affairs is convinced that every Ukrainian can help speed up the demining process.

"In order to intensify the demining of contaminated areas, we have developed a special application through which you can send photos, videos, or simply indicate information about the location of a suspicious object. Our pyrotechnic units respond to all messages in the application as quickly as possible. In this way, each user becomes our partner in clearing the area from explosives," said Yevhen Yenin.
