On February 20, 2019, on the Heavenly Hundred Heroes Day, at its session the Government adopted a number of regulations aimed at increasing the social protection of the participants of the Revolution of Dignity and the families of the heroes who died in those events.
"Among us there live the participants of the Revolution of Dignity, the relatives of those who died then, and our duty is to exert every effort to protect these people. This work is carried out by the Government during the whole period of our activity - not from date to date, but on the systemic basis. The relevant working group is headed personally by the Prime Minister, we constantly meet with the participants of the Revolution of Dignity, with the members of the families of those who died in the Maidan events, thus continuing to implement a roadmap that allows the Government to solve the social problems for these people", said Minister of Social Policy Andrii Reva during in his statement at the Government session.
The Minister informed about the initiatives of the Ministry of Social Policy aimed at strengthening social protection of the aforesaid categories of citizens.
"Today's decisions comprise the third package, which allows to include the participants of the Revolution of Dignity and family members of the victims into social protection programs approved by the Verkhovna Rada. We are speaking about providing social and psychological rehabilitation services, providing social and professional adaptation services, expanding the procedure for sanatorium treatment for the participants of the Revolution of Dignity, as well as providing housing for the families of the deceased participants of the Revolution of Dignity and those who got the disability of the first and second groups. The sum approximately UAH 25 million are allocated for housing provision program, which will allow to provide approximately 20-25 apartments. This work will continue according to the schedule, and we will do our utmost to ensure that these people feel our support so that to assure them that the whole society, the whole country remembers their feat", Andrii Reva summed up.
