Government approves changes to agreement with Poland on arrangement of checkpoints and road infrastructure on the Ukrainian-Polish border
On 16 August, the Government adopted a resolution approving the draft Protocol between the Governments of Ukraine and the Republic of Poland. The Protocol provides for amendments to the agreement between the two governments on the provision of loan on the terms of tied aid dated 9 September 2015.
In particular, it is proposed:
- to increase the term of payment under contracts with Polish enterprises at the expense of the loan of the Government of the Republic of Poland from 5 years to 8 years;
- to grant the right to make changes to contracts with Polish enterprises in terms of increasing their prices, taking into account changes in the scope of work.
The relevant draft act was developed by the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine to implement the protocol decision of a special meeting chaired by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories Iryna Vereshchuk.
Amendments to the agreement will make it possible to use the loan of the Government of the Republic of Poland and make expenditures within the budget programmes. It is about programme 3111610 “Development of border road infrastructure on the Ukrainian-Polish border” and programme 3506610 “Implementation of the project on development of border road infrastructure and arrangement of checkpoints”.
