Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, posted 28 August 2025 16:47

Ukraine is preparing for the 2025–2026 heating season as planned, stated Energy Minister Svitlana Grynchuk on the United News telethon.

“We are preparing for the 2025–2026 heating season across all set priorities, including restoration work, equipment repairs for stable operation, and resource stockpiling,” she noted.

The Minister highlighted ongoing efforts to store planned gas volumes, accumulate coal and fuel oil reserves, and build equipment reserves while enhancing the physical protection of energy facilities.

However, enemy attacks remain a key challenge, Svitlana Grynchuk stressed, with russia targeting energy infrastructure daily, particularly in frontline regions.

She reported that Ukraine’s energy system is currently stable, and the country is optimistic about navigating the winter, bolstered by support from international partners. Crucial assistance for purchasing imported gas comes from the EBRD, Norway, and the European Investment Bank.

Svitlana Grynchuk assured that energy experts are preparing for various winter scenarios to ensure readiness for each.
