Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko met with President of the Czech Republic Petr Pavel.

“I was pleased to welcome the President of the Czech Republic, Petr Pavel, to Ukraine. Czechia is our strategic partner, and our countries are connected by deep historical ties. I thanked him for the support provided to our Defence Forces, for the humanitarian assistance, and for the implementation of reconstruction projects in Ukraine. As part of the Ukraine Facility, Czechia will continue to modernise Ukrainian hospitals, with a particular focus on frontline regions,” Yulia Svyrydenko emphasised.

According to her, the Czech leader’s visit is taking place against the backdrop of ongoing intense fighting on the frontline and persistent russian attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. The Head of the Ukrainian Government outlined the current situation regarding the restoration of energy facilities, noting the outstanding efforts of Ukrainian rescue workers and energy specialists under extremely difficult weather conditions.

The Prime Minister thanked President Petr Pavel for the energy equipment provided to Ukraine. Six Czech cogeneration units with a total capacity of 1.45 MW are already operating in Kharkiv region, ensuring an uninterrupted heat supply to Chuhuiv. Two more cogeneration units are in the process of being connected to the city hospital.

“In the near future, we plan to sign an intergovernmental agreement on technical and financial cooperation that will further strengthen both our countries. We already have well-established formats that have proved their effectiveness, including joint government consultations and the intergovernmental commission on economic, industrial and scientific-technical cooperation,” Yulia Svyrydenko concluded.
