Work to coordinate all components of the energy system continues amid the emergency caused by russian attacks and severe frosts. The focus is on ensuring uninterrupted gas supply, particularly in frontline regions. This was emphasised by Yulia Svyrydenko during a working meeting with the Head of the Naftogaz Group, Sergii Koretskyi.

“Across the country, 474 emergency teams of gas distribution networks are operating in an intensified mode. In total, more than two thousand gas workers are involved – carrying out direct repairs at facilities and providing round-the-clock call handling for the public. Following constant enemy attacks, they are doing everything possible to swiftly restore gas supply to villages and small towns near the frontline, where repair teams often work under targeted attacks. I thank each and every one of them,” the Head of Government noted.

Particular attention is currently being paid to the frontline regions of Chernihiv, Kharkiv, Sumy, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, Kherson and Dnipropetrovsk. The situation is especially difficult in Kherson, where enemy shelling has caused significant damage to energy facilities. Naftogaz has provided local residents with 1,750 electric and gas heaters together with gas cylinders and continues to deliver additional equipment on an ongoing basis.

In addition, the meeting discussed the situation regarding the import of additional gas volumes. “Thanks to UAH 8 billion allocated from the state budget and the assistance of international partners, in 2025 the Government, together with Naftogaz, ensured the import of 5.7 billion cubic metres of gas to guarantee the stable passage of the heating season,” the Prime Minister noted. According to her, this made it possible to replace volumes of domestic production lost as a result of massive missile strikes.

Following the meeting, clear parameters for imports for the next period were also determined in order to get through this winter’s unprecedentedly difficult heating season.

Points of Invincibility are operating at filling stations of the state-owned Ukrnafta network, which is part of the Naftogaz Group. “Assistance must be provided where people need it most right now,” Yulia Svyrydenko stressed.
