Sergii Koretskyi: UK to provide GBP 100 million through PURL to strengthen Ukraine’s air defences

Prime Minister of Ukraine Sergii Koretskyi met with British Ambassador to Ukraine Sir Neil Crompton.

“We had a detailed discussion of Ukraine’s air defence requirements and the need to accelerate planned deliveries,” the Prime Minister said. “I thanked the United Kingdom for the GBP 100 million winter support package announced today through PURL to strengthen Ukraine’s air defences.”

The Prime Minister also stressed the need to increase sanctions pressure on russia.

The meeting covered the possibility of using proceeds from the sale of certain sanctioned russian assets to meet Ukraine’s humanitarian needs, including the war-risk insurance programme.

Macro-financial stability was another key focus.

“Securing sufficient funding for Ukraine’s Defence Forces in 2026–27 remains a priority,” the Prime Minister stressed.

Sergii Koretskyi thanked the United Kingdom for its steadfast support and concrete action to strengthen Ukraine’s resilience and defence.
