Extended trade liberalization for agricultural products – Ukraine and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland ink agreement
The signing ceremony took place during a meeting between Taras Kachka, Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine, and Sir Chris Bryant, Member of Parliament, Minister of State at the Department for Business and Trade of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
During the meeting, Taras Kachka and Chris Bryant signed Agreement No. 4 in the form of an exchange of letters, which amends Agreement No. 3 and, through it, the Agreement on Political Cooperation, Free Trade and Strategic Partnership between Ukraine and the United Kingdom.
The agreement extends the application of zero import duties on eggs and poultry meat by the parties from March 31, 2026, to March 31, 2028, which is an important support for the Ukrainian agricultural sector and contributes to the preservation of exports in the context of the war. At the same time, it creates additional opportunities for British businesses and consumers, strengthening mutual trust and predictability in trade relations.
During the meeting, the parties also discussed deepening Ukrainian-British cooperation, developing trade and economic relations, supporting Ukraine in the context of full-scale russian aggression, strengthening the Ukrainian energy sector, exchanging experience in digitalisation, and expanding the participation of British businesses in Ukraine's recovery projects.
The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized the strategic nature of the partnership between Ukraine and the United Kingdom and thanked the British side for its consistent support for our country in the areas of foreign policy, security, and economics.
"Even in wartime, the Ukrainian economy continues to function, export goods, and maintain production chains, and the support of our partners helps us sustain this stability and resist the aggressor. We highly appreciate the UK's willingness not only to support Ukraine, but also to work with us to find solutions that deliver tangible results for businesses and citizens of both countries," Taras Kachka emphasized.
The parties agreed to continue strengthening economic cooperation and deepening their partnership.
