Update on the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection

According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of May 6, in Ukraine there have been officially confirmed 6,038 (271 children out of this number, 113 healthcare workers) new cases of COVID-19 infection. The number of active cases makes up 339,864.

Since the beginning of the immunization campaign, 783,812 people have been vaccinated. On May 5, 2021, 24,494 people were vaccinated against COVID-19. Of this number 710  people got CoviShield vaccine, 2,682 – CoronaVac vaccine, 1,728 – Comirnaty vaccine, 19,374 - AstraZeneka.

During the last 24 hours, there have been hospitalized 1,849 persons, 374  patients died, 14,351  persons recovered. There have been conducted 72,373 testings (36,945 using the PCR method, 12,460  using the ELISA method and research by rapid tests for antigen to SARS-CoV-2 – 22,968.

During the entire pandemic in Ukraine:

• 2,097,024 persons contracted COVID-19 infection;
• 1,711,709 people recovered;
• 45,461 people died;
• 9,555,109 testings have been conducted.

The number of people with coronavirus disease in regions:

Data from the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk regions and the city of Sevastopol are not available.

The Ministry of Healthcare of Ukraine urges when having the first symptoms of respiratory illnesses to call a family doctor. Stay home! Self-isolation is the most efficient way to protect yourself from infection.
