Within the framework of the implementation of the bilateral Ukrainian-Hungarian Intergovernmental Agreement on Cooperation in the Field of Water Management in Frontier Waters, an online meeting of the joint working group of the parties on protection against harmful effects of water was held.
The agenda of the sitting encapsulated:
apprising the sides of measures on flood protection and protection against inland waters;
regulation of the channel of the Ukrainian-Hungarian border section of the Tisza river;
reconstruction of the principal channel of Verke and Sypa in order to flood the Beregovo system;
the state of operation of the joint Ukrainian-Hungarian the automated information measuring system "Tisa", etc.
The meeting participants briefed each other about the measures taken during the floods in February, data exchange, operation of pumping stations and reclamation systems of common interest.
The Hungarian side spoke about the progress of the implementation of the joint Anti-Flood Development Program, in particular the construction of the Tisa-Tour flood polder, the development of projects for the reconstruction of the Tisza, Tur and Batar dams.
In the course of the meeting, the interlocutors also discussed the state of operation of the joint automated information measuring system "Tisa", the joint project of international technical assistance SAFETISZA, TiszaMonitorNet and other topical issues of cooperation.
