Update on the spread and prevention of COVID-19 coronavirus infection

According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of December 19, 2021 in Ukraine there have been officially confirmed 2,536 (250 children out of this number, 26 healthcare workers) new cases of COVID-19 infection.

The COVID-19 vaccination campaign started on February 24, 2021. Since the beginning of the immunization campaign, 27,373,349 vaccines have been made.

Since the beginning of the immunization campaign, 14,386,387 people have been vaccinated. On December 19, 2021, 36,027 people were vaccinated against COVID-19. Of this number 0 people got CoviShield vaccine, 9,954 – CoronaVac vaccine, 18,550 – Comirnaty vaccine, 2,237 – AstraZeneka, 0 – Janssen, Moderna – 5,286.

Vaccination was carried out by 495 mobile immunization teams, 2,432 vaccination points and 459 vaccination centers.

During the last 24 hours, there have been hospitalized 1,241 persons, 157 patients died, 6,690 persons recovered. There have been conducted 26,912 testings (10,987 using the PCR method, 1,690 using the ELISA method and research by rapid tests for antigen to SARS-CoV-2 – 14,235). 

During the entire pandemic in Ukraine:

• 3,610,687 persons contracted COVID-19 infection;
• 3,338,555 people recovered;
• 93,262 people died;
• 16,503,941 testings have been conducted.

The number of people with coronavirus disease in regions:

Data from the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk regions and the city of Sevastopol are not available.
