Ministry of Digital Transformation: Updating rules for working with open data – Government adopts resolution

Open data is the foundation of transparency, accountability, and the development of a digital state. For this reason, the Government has adopted a resolution that makes working with open data simpler and clearer for everyone.

Open data refers to information collected and stored by public authorities, made available to all in a convenient digital format, excluding personal or confidential data. This can include data on budgets, transport, education, healthcare, or even business registries.

From now on, the most critical data of public value will be consolidated into an updated unified list. This will enable citizens, businesses, and civil society organisations to quickly find and use the information for analytics, service development, or monitoring government activities.

The updated rules will also help public authorities manage data more effectively. They will receive clear guidelines for uploading information to the Unified Open Data Portal, making data more accessible to citizens while reducing opportunities for misuse by officials.

Open data is not just about numbers or tables. It’s about the ability to build modern digital services, foster business development, and ensure genuine government accountability to citizens.
