The launched in early March, a large-scale campaign to monetize subsidies for housing and communal services runs smoothly and flawless. According to data from the state-run Oschadbank, since March 12, monetized subsidies has commenced to be paid through the bank's network. In particular, on the first day of payment through the system Shvydka Kopiyka (Quick Money), subsidies worth UAH 19.4 million were paid, which were executed in 11,172 transfers. The sum worth UAH 333.4 million through 204,224 transfers was credited to the accounts of beneficiaries. The campaign is underway.

Background

The subsidy program in Ukraine acts as an effective way to help vulnerable groups of the population. Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman has repeatedly stated, the Government has protected and will prolong to support people who, due to different living conditions, cannot pay housing costs, and therefore the Government implements a policy of efficient consumption of resources. So, in 2017, on the initiative of the Cabinet of Ministers, a mechanism was introduced to stimulate the saving of gas and electricity during the heating season. In 2018, such an incentive amounted to about UAH 700 in monetary terms. The number of households that received funds amounted to 1.3 million.

The present - full monetization of subsidies has become a logical extension of the systemic steps of reforming the housing and utilities sector, energy and social sphere, as well as achieving energy efficiency and energy independence. The saved money, due to the efficient consumption of resources, will remain for consumers. And this principle will operate on a permanent basis.

"We will protect people. We came up with efficient solutions. We are starting monetization. The system will work. We are on the right track to increase social protection of people", said Volodymyr Groysman.
